MAIN LODGES
Labrador Hunting Safari has several locations to choose from, some are road accessible, some fly-in, or by boat. Most have been newly constructed, and expanded upon, in the past five years. Our modern facilities are fully equipped with satellite communications, generated power, propane and/or wood heat and all have a bathroom/shower facility. The buildings are dry, well constructed, permanent wood structures to provide you with optimum comfort during your stay with us. Separate sleeping quarters for our guides and staff are provided adjacent to the main lodges. Hearty, home-cooked meals are prepared and served by an experienced cook, in a separate kitchen/dining facility. We offer an excellent variety of wholesome meals that are guaranteed to satisfy even the largest of “northern air” appetites and rave reviews have been a consistent and common consensus amongst all our guests
REMOTE SPIKE CAMPS
Labrador Hunting Safari also has several remote sites to compliment our Main Lodges. All are strategically placed along Labrador’s primary migration route and can provide direct access to the herds of migrating caribou. The hunts are conducted by boat and/or foot, according to the pace your desire. Our remote hunting sites consist of modern, insulated wall tents on plywood platforms and are equipped with wood heat and a comfortable sleeping area. Delicious meals are prepared, and enjoyed, in a separate unit. Your host will be closely monitoring the herd movement throughout the season and will place you in the most productive area possible. Please note that the baggage limit for personal gear into our fly-in camps is 60 lbs. per person and this is strictly enforced due to weight limitations in the float plane. Any overweight can be left behind at our Schefferville facility. A soft gun case is suggested for use in floatplanes.
DROP TENT LOCATIONS
Labrador Hunting Safari employs the daily use of several different avenues to monitor the herd movement throughout the season In the event that the caribou have already passed by, or have not yet arrived at any of our established locations, we have the option of flying you to a location and conduct the hunt from a “drop tent” location. With the exception of the float plane capacity on distance traveled, we have no limitations on where we can hunt within Labrador. Caribou migration patterns can sometimes vary from year to year, depending on wintering grounds etc., therefore mobility and adaptability to changes are without a doubt, a key factor in achieving a successful hunt. Labrador Hunting Safari is fully equipped to set you up comfortably, in any remote location that offers optimum chances for success at the time.
